When you accept a position through Get Up, Go Global, you become an employee of the hiring company. Your pay scale will be determined by the employer and will depend on factors like your position, experience, location, cost of living, and any additional benefits. Get Up, Go Global doesn't handle your pay—no pay cheques from us! It's important to do your homework and ensure that the job you're taking complies with the labor laws of the country. Typically, you'll be paid in the local currency of the employment country, and payments are usually made bi-weekly or monthly. But remember, the frequency and method of payment may vary between employers, so it's a good idea to ask them about it before accepting the position. Due diligence always!

What should I include in my profile to find work?

When creating your profile, make sure to tailor it to the specific job you're applying for. For example, if you're applying for a dance gig at a resort, include a dance resume, a cover letter, a dance reel, and some awesome photos of you busting those moves. If you're aiming for a sales manager position, rock a headshot, a detailed CV highlighting your experience and achievements, and recommendation letters from past employers. It's always better to provide more information rather than too little. And don't forget to mention your earliest date of availability.

If I land a job at an All-Inclusive resort, do I get All-Inclusive perks?

In most cases, if you score a position at an All-Inclusive resort through Get Up, Go Global, your accommodations and meals will be included as part of your employment package. Can I work with my friend/partner/spouse at the same company and location?

Absolutely! You can apply with your buddy, partner, or spouse and request to work together. However, keep in mind that there's no guarantee you'll both be offered positions at the same company and location. Some employers are cool with it, while others may have different preferences. Be honest about what you’re looking for.

Where will I live once I arrive for work at a resort or hotel?

If the job posting states that accommodations will be provided, it's important to clarify all the details with your hiring manager at the resort before accepting the position. Typically, resorts will house their staff either within the resort in a designated area or at a secure location nearby, along with other staff members. More great questions for your potential employer!

What if I can't finish my contract?

If you find yourself unable to complete the full term of your contract, it's important to let your employer know and give them proper notice. Keep in mind that if you were promised any bonuses or incentives for completing the contract (like flight reimbursement and/or visa costs), you might lose out on those if you don't fulfill the entire term. Make sure you have all these details in your employment letter or contract offered by your employer if you're not sure.

Will I have medical coverage if I work in another country?

If you're hired to work in a country that's not your own, the medical coverage you'll receive will depend on the regulations of that country and the benefits offered by your employer. During the interview process with your potential employer, you'll get more information about the coverage or insurance available, so you can make sure you have the level of coverage you're comfortable with. Each company will have different policies so make sure you are clear on what you are being offered.

How much does Get Up, Go Global charge for its services?

Great news! You can create an account and find work for free using Get Up, Go Global. However, if you're serious about your entertainment and hospitality career, you can upgrade your membership level for additional perks. With an upgraded membership, your profile will appear first in employer searches and you'll be promoted to potential employers by appearing as a featured candidate in the search. But don't worry, we will never take any fees from your pay once you land a position. Remember - Get Up, Go Global and you are not in a legal partnership, agency relationship, or employment relationship. Do I need a working visa if I want to work in a different country, and how long does it last?

Yes, if you're looking to work in a different country, you'll typically need a working visa. Usually, the employer takes care of the visa process, and it's usually valid for one year. If you need to handle the visa yourself, the potential employer will provide you with the necessary steps to obtain one. The terms and conditions of each company and country will vary so make sure you have all the information provided to you by the employer.
